Refund policy
This refund policy sets out the conditions which must be satisfied in order to permit a refund of the registration fees for the Swimming Australia coach education course (the Course) to be approved.
Candidates are required to make full payment at the time of enrolment into the Course. Swimming Australia is unable to hold places in the Course without full payment being made. Upon clearance of payment (and satisfaction of all other registration requirements) the candidate will become registered in the Course.
Swimming Australia may provide refunds to candidates under the following circumstances:
- A refund will be provided to candidates who submit a refund request in writing within 7 days of enrolment and who have not commenced the Course.
- For refund requests received after the commencement of the Course or more than 7 days after enrolment, no payment will be refunded.
- All refunds will be subject to a 10% administration fee.
A candidate may request a refund by contacting Swimming Australia and providing details to support their request for refund.
The candidate will be notified by Swimming Australia once a decision on the refund request has been made. Approved refunds will typically be processed within a 2 week period following the request being granted. Should a refund be payable, payment will be made by the same method as the original payment (e.g. credit card if paid by credit card), in Australian dollars ($AUD).
A decision to issue a refund will be at Swimming Australia’s discretion and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Terms and conditions
Course entry criteria
To be eligible to register in the Swimming Australia coach education courses applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Minimum age of 18 by date of enrolment;
- Comply with Swimming Australia member protection policy/ coach code of conduct;
- Hold a current WWCC or state/territory equivalent; and
- Meet the pre-requisite of the course.
The pre-requisites for each course and module will be specified in the enrolment process for the relevant course or module.
Completing online learning before the workshop
You must complete the online learning prior to attending the workshop component. Failure to do so will result in you being marked as non-attending for the workshop and you will be required to reschedule for a future workshop when the online learning has been completed.
Compulsory attendance
If registered to participate in the course, you must ensure that you attend the workshop component that is at the time and location that you have registered for. You are not able to attend workshop components that occur at a different time or date that you have registered for.
In the event of non-attendance, you will be required to submit in writing your reasoning for non-attendance prior to being added to a new workshop. If you are unable to attend due to illness a medical certificate will be required. No refund is offered for courses that you fail to attend.
Additional need requirements
The online learning will require access to a computer and registrants must have a basic level of computer literacy in order to participate and complete the Course. Before registering, participants should ensure that they meet the basic computer literacy requirements (basic hardware and software knowledge including internet). No refund will be provided to a participant on the basis of issues relating to computer literacy difficulties.
All workshop components will be conducted in English unless otherwise state on the pre-workshop guide. Participants are required to be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing). No refund will be provided to a participant on the basis of issues relating to language difficulties.
Participants should contact learning.coaches@swimming.org.au if additional assistance from Swimming Australia is required to enable them to undertake the course (for example due a physical impairment). Assistance is tailored for each individual’s circumstances. An additional fee may be applicable as a result of Swimming Australia providing such assistance, based on the relevant needs.
Procedure for complaints and feedback
If a participant has any complaints or feedback on the course, this should be documented in writing and sent to learning.coaches@swimming.org.au. Swimming Australia will consider the feedback or complaint and respond accordingly.
Workshop specifics
Swimming Australia reserves the right to change the venue or cancel an advertised course workshop no less than 48 hours prior to the course start time. Swimming Australia is unable to reimburse travel and accommodation costs incurred relating to relocation or cancellation of an advertised course.
If Swimming Australia cancels a scheduled Course, participants may elect to receive a refund or for Swimming Australia to retain their full payment until the Course is re-scheduled or for payment of, or towards, another Swimming Australia course. If participants do not elect to receive a full refund within 30 days, Swimming Australia will retain their payment for a future course by default.
